Strong Business Leaders Can Help Build a Strong Community

Good for your community. Good for your business.

“Goodness is the only investment that never fails.”  -Henry David Thoreau

Making positive contributions to your local community will certainly help transform it into a better place to live and work. But, did you also know that giving back to your community is a social responsibility that brings a broad range of benefits? Improve your reputation within your community and you may even have better luck with local customers and find it easier to recruit more competent and dedicated employees.

LEND A HELPING HAND

Get Involved: Participate in your local chamber of commerce and attend community meetings. Make your voice heard and share your thoughts and ideas.

Volunteer: Your time, talent and enthusiasm are valuable resources. Organize a local park or trail clean-up day. Plant flowers and maintain community gardens. Volunteer at schools, shelters, food banks and soup kitchens.

Know Your Community: Take the time to get to know your local customers, business owners and neighbors. Their stories are important. Build lasting relationships.

Support Local Businesses: Take pride in your community and shop locally whenever possible.

Support a Good Cause: Organize or participate in food drives, community and local school events and fund raisers for causes that you feel good about supporting.

Be Kind.
